Cobblestone Printmaking Center

About

In 2017 Cobblestone Printmaking Center and Studio was created to offer the use of a press to those artists wishing to pull hand made prints.  The center was created to increase the awareness of printmaking in the region.

Founder Laurie Darby moved to Savannah in 1992  since that time Savannah has grown to become a center for art and culture,  Sensing the need for a community print center Darby opened the shop to service the needs of the growing number of printmakers in the region.

Darby developed a love for printing after developing a friendship with Robert Blackburn while printing at the Blackburn Print Center.  Darby is  a painter, fiber artist and printer and has received several awards and grants,  and continues to  exhibit .  Darby earned a MFA  degree from Temple University and  a BFA and a BA from Carnegie Mellon University.  Teaching  on all levels from post college to pre elementary gave her the impetus to teach the art of printing.  She hopes to spread the love of printmaking to Savannah.
